Phil Young is a corporate education consultant with over 30 years of experience in the design and delivery of business seminars and training programs in finance, strategy, and marketing. His primary focus is on courses in finance for non-financial managers, more generally referred to today as "business acumen." Following are highlights of his background and experience:
- Present and past clients include leading global companies from a wide variety of industries such as technology, telecommunications, financial services, fast-moving consumer goods, and manufacturing and consulting
- Has conducted corporate education programs for clients in over 30 countries around the world
- Active member of the faculty of Duke Corporate Education and Cornell University's Executive Education Program
- Former Professor of economics at Pace University in NewYork, where he taught in the MBA program for 25 years. While at Pace was appointed as the first visiting professor to IBM's International Finance, Planning and Administration School located in NY and Belgium
- Has taught in executive education or degree programs sponsored by Columbia University, The University of California at Berkeley, Thunderbird School of Global Management, Cornell University and the International School of Management (Paris)
- Co-author of an MBA textbook entitled Managerial Economics: Economic Tools for Today's Decision Makers, Pearson Publishing, 2013, 7th Edition. Also co-authored a popular book in economics for business managers entitled The Portable MBA in Economics, John Wiley & Sons. (International editions available in Chinese, Russian, and Spanish.) Edition
- Received a B.A. from the University of Hawaii, an M.A. in international relations from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in economics from New York University
